Please join The Bar Association of San Francisco on Thursday, March 10, 2022 for a virtual presentation where speakers Presiding Judge Samuel K. Feng, Judge Richard B. Ulmer, Jr., Judge Andrew Y.S. Cheng, T. Michael Yuen will discuss the following topics: Superior Court Leadership provides an update on the State of the Court, What is the state of law and motion, pretrial, and trial procedures?, What safety procedures are being followed by the Court?, and What are the best practices two years after emergency declaration, while the pandemic still poses challenges to the legal profession? The moderator will be Rebecca A. Bers.

Presiding Judge Samuel K. Feng is a judge of the Superior Court of San Francisco County in California. He assumed office in 2009. His current term ends on January 6, 2025. Judge Feng won re-election for judge of the Superior Court of San Francisco County in California outright in the primary on June 5, 2018, after the primary and general election were canceled. Judge Feng was appointed to the position by former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. Presiding Judge Feng received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California and a J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.

Judge Richard B. Ulmer, Jr. is a judge for the Superior Court of San Francisco in California. Judge Richard was appointed to the court by former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in June 2009 to succeed Philip J. Moscone. Judge Ulmer was re-elected in 2010 and 2016. Judge Ulmer received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and his J.D. from Stanford Law School.

Judge Andrew Y.S. Cheng is a judge of the Superior Court of San Francisco County in California. He assumed office in 2009. His current term ends on January 6, 2025. Judge Cheng won re-election for judge of the Superior Court of San Francisco County in California outright in the primary on June 5, 2018, after the general election was canceled. He was appointed by former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger on September 1, 2009, to succeed John Dearman.

T. Michael Yuen is the CEO of the Superior Court of California, County of San Francisco. He is responsible for managing approximately 420 employees, overseeing a $76.9 million budget and implementing Court policies and procedures. Mr. Yuen has demonstrated history of working in the judiciary industry. Strong business development professional skilled in Nonprofit Organizations, Analytical Skills, Government, Public Finance, and Administration.

Rebecca A. Bers went to New York University School of Law in New York, New York. Ms. Bers worked as an Attorney (Civil/Criminal) for City and County of San Francisco, California.
