Please join the Family Law Section on Friday, November 8, 2019, for a presentation by Beverly Brautigam, CPA, MBA in Taxation, PFS and Hal D. Bartholomew, CFLS, AAML.

Ms. Brautigam and Mr. Bartholomew will discuss tax issues that frequently arise in dissolution matters.

Ms. Brautigam owns and operates Brautigam & Co., a well-regarded CPA firm in Sacramento.  Ms. Brautigam is a CPA with an MBA in Taxation and over 40 years of tax experience.  She holds Series 7 and Series 66 licenses, is a registered representative with H.D. Vest Investment Services, and is a Personal Financial Specialist.  Beverly is a Past President of the California CPA Education Foundation and has received the Award for Instructor Excellence from the California CPA Education Foundation.  She has also taught in the Masters in Taxation program at Golden Gate University and has qualified as an expert in several California counties.

Mr. Bartholomew is a founding partner of Bartholomew & Wasznicky LLP, a Sacramento based family law firm.  He was in the first group of Certified Family Law Specialists in California, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.  He is the co-founder of the Sacramento Collaborative Practice Group and the founding president of Collaborative Practice of California.

Ms. Brautigam and Mr. Bartholomew frequently present together on the interplay of family law and tax issues and have taught for the California CPA Education Foundation for over 30 years.

Please join the Family Law Section on Friday, October 11, 2019, for a presentation on Negotiating & Drafting Pre and Post Marital Agreements by Tanya E. Prioste, Esq., CFLS, AAML and Geniveve J. Ruskus, Esq., CFLS, AAML.  Ms. Prioste and Ms. Ruskus will provide tips and strategies for negotiating and drafting pre-marital and post-marital agreements.

Ms. Prioste is a partner in the Family Law Group at Lakin Spears LLP.  She is a Certified Family Law Specialist and a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML) and the International Academy of Family Lawyers (IAFL). Her practice is devoted exclusively to family law. In addition to doing traditional divorce representation, Ms. Prioste is a mediator, acts as collaborative counsel in Collaborative Divorce cases and is a consulting counsel to mediations. She also prepares and negotiates premarital and postmarital agreements.  Ms. Prioste has been selected by her peers as among the top family lawyers in Northern California every year since 2004 and has frequently been named as one of the Northern California’s “Top 50 Women Lawyers” across all practice areas.
