Please join the Family Law Section on Friday, April 8, 2022, for a presentation by Michèle Bissada on Silicon Valley Entities: Structures and Equity Compensation.  This presentation will cover what family law attorneys should know about Silicon Valley startups and venture capital entities, including an overview of the different types of equity compensation, why they are issued, typical vesting schedules, and how securities are valued in private and public companies. Michèle’s expertise in the venture capital arena is based on her 28 years of practice and her Silicon Valley based practice on high asset highly complex financial cases.

Michèle Bissada is a partner at Flicker, Kerin, Kruger & Bissada, LLP, located in Menlo Park.  She is a Certified Family Law Specialist (ACFLS), a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML), rated by Martindale Hubbell as an AV Preeminent attorney in her field and has been nominated as a Super Lawyer each year since 2006.  Michèle has also been selected for several years as Top 50 Women Northern California Super Lawyers and Top 10 Northern California Family Law Super Lawyers and Top 100 Overall Northern California Super Lawyers .  Michèle specializes in high-asset family law cases, including complex financial and high conflict custody issues.  She also serves as a mediator directly for parties in dissolution or desiring of premarital or cohabitation agreements; as a neutral mediator for attorney-assisted mediation; and as a private settlement judge for family law matters.  Michèle acts as San Mateo County Fee Arbitrator and has in the past also served as Judge pro tem for the Santa Clara County Superior Court.  Michèle serves on the AAML Northern California Chapter Board and is the current President-Elect of the Northern California Chapter of AAML.  Michèle served as 2011 San Mateo County Bar Association President and continues to be involved with the Bar Association.

Cost: $30 for members and $40 for nonmembers. You will also receive MCLE credit.

Consistent with our prior virtual presentations that have qualified for MCLE credit, all attendees must register online prior to the event. Online registration will close on the morning of the event.

Logistics: Your Zoom credentials will automatically be emailed to you shortly after you register online, as well as the day and hour before the event. The written materials for the webinar will be emailed to attendees the morning of the event. 

Cancellations must be received at least 48 hours prior to the event for a full refund of the registration fee. If you do not cancel within 48 hours or do not show up to the event, you will be charged the full amount. You will receive 1 hour of General Law MCLE credit for attending this event. The MCLE certificates will be made available in the week following the event.
