Celebrating Trailblazers: Honoring the 2025 Elinor Falvey Award Recipients

The San Mateo County Bar Association’s Women Lawyers’ Section proudly announces Judge Susan Etezadi and attorney Nanci Nishimura as the 2025 Elinor Falvey Award recipients—the first time the honor goes to two individuals. Celebrated for their outstanding advocacy, leadership, and lifelong dedication to advancing women in the legal field, both will be honored at the Spring Judges’ Luncheon on May 7, 2025.


Law Day of Action - Bay Area Events

Peaceful rallies supporting judicial independence and the rule of law on May 1st at the Phillip Burton Federal Building Plaza in San Francisco and the Ronald V. Dellums Federal Courthouse in Oakland.  Showing Up for Racial Justice (SURJ) is also holding a rally for racial justice tonight at Jefferson and El Camino in Redwood City. There will also be a rally at the Plaza at the United States Courthouse in Los Angeles. The events will feature speakers and welcome community participation.
